Simsbury Bank hosts flu shot clinics

Simsbury Bank, in conjunction with the Farmington Valley VNA, will be holding two Flu Vaccine Clinics in October: Friday, Oct. 19, at 981 Hopmeadow Street, Simsbury, and Thursday, Oct. 25, at 11 Hartford Avenue, Granby. Both clinics will be from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

The available vaccines are: Quadrivalent for ages 5 and over, and High Dose for ages 65 and older.

“As a community bank, this is one way we can provide a much needed service to residents and do what we can to keep everyone healthy this winter season”, said Bernadeta Eichner, Sr. Relationship Manager, Granby branch and Joseph Beale, Sr. Relationship Manager, Simsbury branch.

“Influenza (the flu) is a serious illness that is highly contagious and can lead to pneumonia and other serious medical conditions. Prevention includes: hand washing, respiratory etiquette, home isolation and getting a flu shot!” said Nancy Scheetz, RN, Executive Director of the Farmington Valley VNA.

The following types of insurance are accepted: Medicare (Part B as Primary Carrier); ConnectiCare (Regular and Medicare); CIGNA; Aetna (Regular and Medicare); Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield (but no Anthem Medicare); Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare; Wellcare and United Healthcare (CT State Retiree Plan only).
