The McLean Auxiliary will hold a guided hike in the McLean Game Refuge on Saturday, Oct. 6. The easy-to-moderate hike, open to the public, will be led by Game Refuge Director Connor Hogan. Hikers should gather at 9:30 a.m. at the Rte. 10/202 entrance. There is no charge for the hike but donations to the McLean Auxiliary are welcome. The hike will be held rain or shine, except for extreme weather; call 860-658-3710 with any questions.
Hikers will have opportunity to learn about the history, ecology and geology of the refuge, as well as management practices of the flora and fauna. Attendees are invited for refreshments around Senator McLean’s cabin following the walk.
