The McLean Auxiliary is holding its annual membership drive for 2019 at a Membership Social on Friday, Oct. 19, 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the Hartford Room in the Burkholder Community Center on the McLean Campus. There will be a floral arranging demonstration by Ellie Madara. The lovely arrangement she creates will be raffled.
The McLean Auxiliary volunteers are dedicated to supporting the quality of life and wellness for McLean residents, patients and clients. From the beautiful gift shop that is open to the public, to annual fundraisers and numerous activities for residents, the auxiliary is an integral part of the McLean community.
Each year, the auxiliary provides grants to McLean and a scholarship to an employee or child of an employee pursuing education in a health care field. In 2018, the McLean Auxiliary awarded over $16,000 in grants to McLean for patient needs, Megapulse Shortwave Diathermy System, supplies for the new courtyard, music and entertainment programs, and awarded two scholarships to staff members who are pursuing nursing education.
