Friday, Aug. 17, is the date for this year’s Granby UNICO Charity Golf Tournament, at Blue Fox Run in Avon featuring world long-drive competitor Michael “Moose” Watson. Sponsorships are still available, and players are welcome to participate as individuals or foursomes.
This year’s tournament will feature hole-in-one prizes on all par 3 holes and a “hole-in-two” prize (Pebble Beach golf vacation) on a par 5 hole assisted by Watson, whose long drive measures 445 yards.
Cost for players is $135, which includes carts, lunch, dinner, premium open bar, drink tickets on the course, driving range and raffle prizes at the evening banquet. Format will be a scramble, with an 11 a.m. shotgun start. Prizes will be awarded for closest to the pin and straightest drive, and team awards will be given.
