Wildcats Girls Ice Hockey Team.

The Wildcats Girls Ice Hockey Team just ended its first season as a varsity team—and with massive success. Last year, the group played only as a club team, with players from Suffield, Enfield, Housatonic, Ellington, Granby and surrounding towns. However, this year it entered as a varsity team and blew the competition out of the water. Coached by Joe Gozzi, Brian McCusker and Mike Tenzar, the Wildcats made it all the way to finals on March 11, with an impressive 17-2-1 record. Although the team unfortunately lost in finals to Darien with a score of 5-2, it still had major success in other tournaments. The Wildcats won the border cup against Longmeadow and also won the SCC tournament at Trinity College. High scoring players include Sophie Lupone, Genevieve Bushey, Molly Dowd, Zoe Pincelli and Anna Titman. This triumphant season indicates victory for the many seasons ahead. Go Wildcats!
