The Granby Artists Association will host its ninth annual Holiday Gift Show Dec. 3 – 4 at the Holcomb Farm Learning Center. This is truly a “buy local” event! Eleven of the association’s talented members will have an array of items including paintings, prints, note cards, wooden lamps and bowls, jewelry, calligraphy, glass art bowl and ornaments.
New member Scott Duncan has polished wooden plates, bowls, and pens. Jean-Luc Godard will show many new items including Granby Oak etched wooden medallions and presentation boards. Potter Tracy Marlor joins us this year with new unique ornaments and handcrafted platters. Avis Cherichetti has new hand-built rectangular vases in clay. Linda Yurasevecz has new fired coffee mugs with lids and clay-fired earring holders. Annukka Ritalahti and Mark Gottlieb have great new blown-glass items, unique glass necklaces and small Granby bears. Lori Catlin Garcia will present sophisticated jewelry in precious metal featuring hand-blown lamp-work glass beads. Laura Eden and Sally Sargent Markey will show paintings, prints, note cards, holiday ornaments, and Sally will have her whimsical stray-sock animals. Debby Reelitz will have calligraphic art, organic t-shirts and a new holiday ornament.
The show will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3, and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4. There is no admission charge.
Throughout both days there will be live music featuring Laura Mazza-Dixon’s Windy Hill guitar students and young musicians from Granby Schools as well as students from an area home school program.
Lunch will feature hearty fare from Waste Not Want Not Community Kitchen including soups and snacks.
Holcomb Farm is located at 113 Simsbury Road in West Granby. Visit www.granbyartists.org for directions, further details and the finalized music schedule or call Debby Reelitz at 860-413-9041.
