Historical Society Tours
The Salmon Brook Historical Society is open for tours on Sundays beginning June 5, 2–4 p.m. Special exhibits in each building focus on Granby children. The society is located at 208 Salmon Brook Street. Admission: $5 for adults, $2 for children and seniors, family maximum $12, members free.

Blood Pressure Screenings
The Farmington Valley VNA’s free blood pressure screenings are available without appointment Tuesday, June 7, 9–10:30 a.m. at the YMCA in Granby; Monday, June 6, 11 a.m.–noon, at East Granby Senior Center and 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. at East Hartland Town Hall; Monday, June 20, 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m., at First Church Parish, East Hartland; Thursdays, June 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30, 11 a.m.–12:30 p.m., at Granby Senior Center.

Blessing of the Animals
First Church will hold its annual Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, June 12, 10 a.m. We welcome all people and all animals! First Congregational Church is located at 219 North Granby Road.

Civic Club
The Granby Civic Club will meet at Lost Acres Orchard for its June Luncheon, Thursday, June 16 at 12 p.m. It has been the club’s tradition to hold the final meeting of the year at the Orchard—eating, discussing current events of the town, election of officers and planning for the future. The ladies enjoy a great time of food, fun and fellowship as they eat under the apple trees or on the new Farm Store Porch. The cost for the luncheon is $12 per person.

Women’s Breakfast
Chris Prosperi, well known chef-owner at Metro Bis in Simsbury, will do a summer salad presentation on Wednesday, June 1, for the Granby Women’s Breakfast Group at the Senior Center. Breakfast starts at 8:30 a.m. and the program begins 9 a.m. Cost $3/person. Call Corinne Dickerson 860-653-9801 to reserve your spot.

Camera Club Field Trip
The Granby Camera Club will have a field trip for its meeting on Monday, June 6. Members will meet at the Senior Center and leave at 5:30 p.m. to go to Mark’s Cruise Night in East Granby. Cossitt Friends’ Annual Meeting
The public and members are invited to the annual meeting of the Friends of the Cossitt Library on Wednesday, June 9, 7 p.m. Be involved in supporting Granby’s unique historic library. The Friends offer programs for adults and children, supplement the collections of books, DVDs, books-on-CD and magazines and fund improvements to the building, furnishings and grounds. Membership dues are $2 per year or a family lifetime of $25. Come meet friendly people, appreciate the beautiful interior of the library, the children’s and adult collections, and enjoy delicious refreshments.

Second Annual Strawberry Festival
West Granby United Methodist Church is holding its second annual Strawberry Festival on Saturday, June 18, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be food and refreshments, fun for the entire family, face painting, a bounce house, outdoor games and activities of all kinds.
