Patchwork Schoolhouse turns 15

By Karen O’Keefe

The Patchwork Schoolhouse is celebrating its 15th anniversary of teaching and caring for the children of the Granby area. The center has been an inspirational and creative learning home for many children over the years. The center’s philosophy, “Each child is like a piece of a patchwork quilt, beautiful, strong and unique. When all the pieces are united they create a community stitched together by creativity, individuality, intelligence and love.” In honor of the anniversary it is creating a children’s quilt of dreams and will celebrate with a pizza and ice cream party.

Patchwork Schoolhouse recently added an under-three program geared to nurture and teach toddlers how to explore their world through creative art, singing, playing and working together. The preschool/daycare center serves children ages 18 months to sixth grade and is open from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. For more information, contact Nancy or Karen at 860-653-5137.
