The Granby Senior Center will be offering all special events and Lifetime Learning programs for free to all current members during December, January and February; exercise classes are excluded.

Will your Gingerbread House be voted the best?

The Granby Senior Center will hold a Gingerbread House Contest, and asks local businesses and community members to create a gingerbread house that reflects their own personality. Entries must be dropped off at the Senior Center on Thursday, Dec. 3 or Friday, Dec. 4, by appointment.

Santa visits NEAM

The New England Air Museum gets a visit from Jolly Saint Nick on Saturday, Dec. 12. Santa will be here for the final day of the Toys for Tots Drive.

Camera Club

The Granby Camera Club is not able to use the Senior Center for its meetings at this time, but that does not keep us from sharing, communicating and enjoying photography with monthly Zoom meetings.

Bottle/Can Fundraiser

Please consider donating your bottles and cans to the Granby 4-H Robotics program on Saturday, Dec. 5, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at South Congregational Church.

MS Support Group

The Granby Multiple Sclerosis Support Group will resume when the Granby Senior Center reopens.

Men’s Breakfast

The next Granby Men’s Breakfast will be on Friday, Dec. 11. As the Drummer went to press, the program was uncertain but there will be a meeting via Zoom.

Granby Living Calendar

The Granby Living Facebook group calendar for 2021 will be available at Beman’s Hardware and Rte 10 Tire from the last week in November. Many thanks to Joan Beman and Roger Fecteau for helping us with this worthy fundraiser.

Chorale to offer a free streamed event

On Sunday, Nov. 15, the Farmington Valley Chorale continues its 50th Anniversary year of celebration with a free event, streamed live, featuring Dr. Ellen Gilson Voth, artistic director, in conversation with Professor Kathy Saltzman Romey, director of the Minnesota Chorale.
