Granby Memorial High School Performing Arts presents the fun-loving musical Damn Yankees on Friday, March 11 and Saturday, March 12 at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, March 13 at 2 p.m. in the GMHS Auditorium.
Damn Yankees stars Joe Boyd, an aging Washington Senators fan, who would sell his soul for the Senators to beat the New York Yankees and win the pennant. Enter Applegate (senior Kevin Davis), who offers to turn Boyd into Joe Hardy (senior Jacob Scotto), a powerful young baseball player, in exchange for his soul. When Boyd agrees, he becomes Hardy and leads the Senators on a winning streak. When he starts to miss his wife (senior Haley Kaczka) and questions the deal, Applegate sends temptress Lola (senior Hayden Mueller) into the mix. This musical has many well know songs such as You’ve Gotta Have Heart and Whatever Lola Wants. The show features many seniors including Molly Laird (drama president) and Zolah Daley (drama secretary) who have been in the performing arts program since they were freshman.
Tickets for the show will be available at the door or online at the Granby Memorial High School website the first week in March. Tickets are $12 for students and seniors and $15 for the general public.
