Salmon Brook Veterinary Hospital is proud to announce that Dr. Christopher Weber was one of the Best Veterinarian winners featured in the March 2021 Horse Illustrated magazine.
Weber, a Granby resident, has been with Salmon Brook Veterinary Hospital since 2005. He attended veterinary school at Tufts University. He grew up on a Nebraska farm with horses and cows that taught him about animals and inspired him to want to care for them. He is most driven by teaching people—from a child in 4-H to an equestrian competitor—how to best care for their animal. Weber finds all aspects of his work rewarding, from working through complex medical cases to delivering a calf. The care and compassion he has for his clients is the same as he shows to his co-workers and their pets.
Weber was nominated by his long-term veterinary technician Ashley Sharpe CVT. She writes that she is lucky to call Dr. Weber her vet and her boss. Weber helped get Sharpe’s horse back on track with training and riding after a difficult diagnosis of inflammatory bowel disease of the small intestine. Weber worked with Sharpe and the barn manager where her horse is boarded, to create a treatment plan to get the horse back to normal.
