The Granby Memorial High school drama club is excited to announce its rendition of Matt Cox’s comedy, Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic, for the fall play in November.
The plot follows Wayne Hopkins and his two best friends Oliver Rivers and Megan Jones through seven years at a school known for magic. All living in a house called Puffs, known for its loyal and kind rejects. The main trio have to navigate seven years as outcasts at their magical school. Danger is lurking, and disasters unfold in the background each year as an evil wizard attempts to usurp power. Our protagonists grow together and as individuals in this exciting and enchanting two-act stage production.
There are 20 hard-working crew members in this year’s play, working alongside our 20 talented cast members. Shining stars are junior Aiden Neuman as Wayne Hopkins, senior Josh Davis playing Oliver Rivers and senior Liv Atkinson as Megan Jones. Other prominent roles are; junior Soeren Kruger posing as the Narrator, senior Olivia Lakota as Cedric and Mr. Voldy, junior Allison Craver playing Hannah and others, senior Lucy Boss as Leanne and others, and sophomore Hayley Blackborne as Harry, along with many other cast members in the ensemble. Puffs is directed by Erin Bakken, stage managed by Jenna Rooney, set design by Janet Spatcher, and costumed by Sue Accetura. Puffs runs 1 hour, 45 minutes to two hours, with an intermission.
Parental discretion is advised due to some language and adult humor throughout the show.
Puffs will be presented on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 13 and 14 at 7 p.m., and on Sunday, Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. General admission is $18, Granby teachers and seniors over 60 are $15, students are $10.
