Granby Artists held its biggest and most ambitious event ever at Holcomb Farm on Oct. 4. Over 1,200 people came to see the works of the more than 60 current and past members of Granby Artists. Visitors also participated in hands-on activities, watched demonstrations and enjoyed food and drinks from Zen Catering and Mobile Mixology. The festivities ended with live music by Avenue Groove and desserts by Julien’s and Lost Acres Orchard and Bakery.
A big part of the excitement of this year’s event was seeing the broad range of work done by past and present members of Granby Artists. We have painters and potters, a chainsaw artist, wood turner, carver, illustrators, paper flower artist, felting artist, photographers, calligrapher, glass artists and so many more including an artist who creates environmental installations around the country. Visit our new website (granbyartists.org) to learn more about our exhibiting artists and their work.
This event was, in many ways, like Granby Artists’ first Open Studio Tour in 2002. Back then, we had no idea if anyone was going to come see our studios, but visitors poured in and were excited to learn about the creatives working and living in Granby. The turnout for this event also exceeded our expectations! The excitement and enthusiastic support of Open Studio tours over the last two and a half decades has encouraged and fostered all members of Granby Artists working in a variety of media.
Granby Artists members thank everyone for joining us for this special milestone celebration! Your support for this event and for the last 25 years has allowed us to still be a vital and valued Granby nonprofit organization. Special thanks to the Granby Education Foundation for funding the interactive art activities. Thank you to our 2026 sponsors and the Town of Granby for cosponsoring this event. Also, big thanks to all the artists and volunteers who helped make this event so special.
