In 2025, the Granby Police Department continued its commitment to providing high-quality patrol, dispatch and public safety administrative services while also making significant advancements in professionalism, community engagement and operational readiness.
The department successfully completed State Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 accreditations, reflecting our dedication to best practices, accountability and continuous improvement. We implemented CLEAR (Community-Led Addiction Recovery), a new addiction services program designed to connect individuals and families with resources and support, reinforcing our commitment to compassionate and effective public safety.
Several organizational enhancements were completed this year, including the creation of a School Resource Officer program and the establishment of a Lead Dispatcher position. These initiatives strengthen our ability to serve the community proactively, efficiently and collaboratively.

The department also invested in officer safety and effectiveness by obtaining new firearms equipped with red dot sights and providing comprehensive training for officers in their use. Facility and infrastructure improvements included the renovation of the evidence room, detectives’ office and enhancements to the Granby Animal Shelter, which were finalized in July 2025.
Finally, we conducted a citizen survey to provide residents with an opportunity to share their perspectives on the department’s performance. This feedback is a valuable tool that will guide future planning and reinforce transparency and trust between the department and the community we serve.
These accomplishments reflect the dedication of our personnel and the continued support of the community and town leadership. We remain committed to excellence in public safety as we move forward into the coming year.
As we close the year, I want to thank our residents for your trust and partnership, which are essential to keeping our community safe. I also extend my sincere appreciation to our town officials for your continued support and leadership.
To the men and women of the Granby Police Department, thank you for your dedication, professionalism and service. I am proud of the work you do every day. As we move into the new year, we remain committed to serving this community with integrity, transparency and respect. Thank you all.
