Local love story for Valentine’s Day

This is the story of high school sweethearts, Priscilla and Jimmy, who met in his junior year and her sophomore year, at Hartford Public High School. A mutual friend set up a blind date to go to a drive-in movie in 1968. They continued to go out for the next five years and were married on June 9, 1973. We bought a house in Granby in December 1973, where I still live today! I worked at Connecticut General in Computer Operations and Priscilla worked at Hartford National Bank.

In February 1977 we had our first son, Jason, and Priscilla became a stay-at-home mom. A year and half later, Kevin was born. When the boys attended the Granby School System K-12, Priscilla worked part-time at the high school. As the boys got older, she went to work full time at ETP, then onto Juniper Reinsurance as office manager. I remained at CIGNA until 1986 but also held second jobs for 33 years: Started my own video production business in 1983, at the Granby Police Dept. for 42 years, drove a school bus for 33 years, and at High Meadow for several years.

Kevin and his 8th grade sweetheart, Page Ellis, also a Granby resident, moved to Colorado in 2000. Kevin and Page started their family with Jamison in 2004, Carter in 2008 and twin girls, Lorelai and Charlotte in 2010.

Jason and Jodi married in 2011 and started their family with Chase in 2014 and Cooper in 2016.
Priscilla and I traveled to Colorado for the next 30-plus years to visit those four grandchildren, and appreciated seeing our two grandsons in Avon.

Priscilla, the love of my life, passed on Aug. 30, 2017 from kidney cancer, before meeting our
seventh grandchild, Cameron, born in May 2018.

I still live in the same house in Granby with my partner, Denise Scibelli, which is another interesting story for another time.
