In November, the GMHS Dramatic Arts program again captivated audiences with its spectacular production of Clue. This stage adaptation of the beloved board game and movie brought eccentric, strange and larger-than-life characters vividly to life on stage. Set during the tense era of McCarthyism, Clue was a perfect blend of suspense and comedy, keeping viewers guessing with every twist and turn, while breaking the suspense with moments that had everyone laughing.

The production showcased the exceptional talent of GMHS theatre, from the intricately designed set to the lively performances of the cast. The stage was transformed into Boddy Manor with impressive detail, featuring many moving pieces that created the illusion of separate rooms and corridors. Trap doors and secret passageways added an element of surprise, while a chandelier dramatically fell in slow motion, heightening the sense of mystery and excitement.

The creative team’s vision was clearly realized through meticulous set design and blocking, supported by dedicated students and staff. The cast delivered over-the-top, comedic performances that kept the audience engaged and entertained from start to finish. The production’s success was a true community effort, reaching far into the community with social media, trunk-or-treats, and even a Clue-themed scavenger hunt.

Once again, the GMHS Dramatic Arts program demonstrated its ability to deliver extraordinary theatre experiences. Although Clue came to a close, the program is excited to dive into its next adventure: the enchanting and adventurous musical The Little Mermaid, set to splash onto the stage in March. Audiences can look forward to a magical story filled with stunning costumes, captivating music and dazzling underwater scenes, promising a theatrical experience that will delight audiences of all ages and leave everyone dreaming of the ocean’s magic.
