Track in Granby has had a successful 2025. The boys team had a record of 11-2. The girls team record was 10-3.
The boys teams were led by state meet qualifiers.
Gabe Mensah 100 meters; Rohman Knutson 400 meters, 4×400 relay, discus, and javelin; Gavin Baron 1600 meters, 3200 meters; Calvin Olsen 110 hurdles, 300 hurdles, Pole Vault; Patrick O’Neill 300 hurdles; Nick Ferreri 4×400 relay; Gus Gotberg 4×400 relay, 4×800 relay; Kurt Jansen 4×400 relay, 4×800 relay; Braden Burns 4×800 relay; Otto Gotberg 4×800 relay; Earl Lorden shot put, discus; Evan Wiggins shot put, discus, javelin; Peyton Desrocher discus; Tristan Jackson discus; Elijah Sam javelin; Sean Jones high jump, long jump.
The girls state qualifiers were:
Ashlyn Payette 100 meters, 300 hurdles, 4×400 relay; Catherine Shine 100 meters, 400 meters, 4×100 relay; Sierra Dzielak 200 meters, 400 meters, 4×100 relay; Cassandra Earl 400 meters; Emma Lynch 1600 meters, 4×400 relay, 4×800 relay; Sydney Henry 300 hurdles, high jump; Maia Abrahamsen 4×100 relay; Emma Pagliaro 4×100 relay, triple jump; Kathryn Klem 4×400 relay; Piper Cabral 4×400 relay; Maylee Walker 4×800 relay; Grace de Souza 4×800 relay; Sarah Slade 4×800 relay; Teresa Moody high jump.
The season culminated with Calvin Olsen placing 10th in the state in the Decathlon and Gavin Baron finishing 8th in the state in the 2000-meter steeplechase. These competitions include all state classes. Calvin achieved a personal record in seven of the 10 events over two days in an outstanding performance. Gavin also had a personal record with a time of 7:01.23.
The track season did not end there in Granby again this year. The summer track clinic held on Tuesday nights for incoming 4th through 9th graders went throughout the summer.
The kids were introduced to all the events: sprinting, hurdling, distance, all throwing events and all jumping events including pole vault.
