Cub Scout Pack 325 of Granby held its annual rocket launch on Aug. 9 at Salmon Brook Park, and the skies were buzzing with excitement as scouts and their families gathered for one of the pack’s most thrilling summer traditions.

The launch was coordinated by Steve Sosik and Evan Moreau who oversaw setup and safety. Rockets were launched four at a time, giving kids the chance to lead countdowns and cheer each other on. Sosik counted a record-breaking 48 spent engines—every child got to launch as many times as they wanted, thanks to the pack providing rockets and supplies.

The weather was perfect, and aside from one rocket rescued from a tree, all landed safely in the field. With laughter, teamwork and high-flying fun, the rocket launch was a soaring success and a great way for scouts to reconnect over the summer.
