On Oct. 8, Connecticut State Grange Chief Deputy Peter Keefe and his Winchester Grange Installation Team visited Granby Grange to install the newly elected 2023-24 Granby Grange Officers. One highlight of the installation was using the original gavel of the late Granby Grange #5 member Harvey Goddard, who served as the first Connecticut State Grange President from 1875-78.

Philip Marshall was installed as (President) Master, Ron Cowdrey was installed as (Vice President) Overseer, Kara Marshall was installed as Secretary and Carol Innes was installed as Treasurer. Following the traditional installation ceremony, a brief business program was conducted by Master Philip Marshall, followed by a reception. One new member, Kathy Morgan, was voted into membership.

The historic Grange Hall renovation project requires a variance from the Town of Granby. Once that is approved, the new handicapped access ramp, porch and unisex bathroom projects funded by the 2023 Pomeroy-Brace Fund of the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving should be started. The contractor will be Wutka Home Improvements.
