Gen-ius of Taste

Monday, Sept. 26, from 4:15 to 5 p.m., at the library. For grades 6 – 8. Join the Connecticut Science Center and discover DNA, the molecule that makes every living thing unique. Use the techniques of molecular biologists to extract your own DNA and bring it back to the classroom in a necklace. Then, explore one of the main genes influencing our ability to taste bitter substances as you use bioinformatics to analyze actual DNA sequences. Use your own sense of taste to infer what your tasting genotype might be.

Monday, Oct. 3, at 6:30 p.m., at the library.
