The Abigail Phelps Chapter of the DAR is pleased to announce the 2021 Good Citizens Awards. Karen DiMenna, chair of the DAR Good Citizens Committee, recognized four area seniors for their dependability, service, leadership and patriotism. All four are academically accomplished and members of the National Honor Society.

Maeve Dingley is a senior at Granby Memorial High School. Four years ago, she received the DAR Good Citizenship Award as a freshman, and as a senior she again is being recognized by the local DAR. Faculty describe her as caring, compassionate, honest and level-headed. Maeve has been president of her class for her four years at GMHS.

Sreekar Patti, a senior at East Granby High School, has volunteered over 650 hours to an organization called Power of Peace which has young people working with the goals of eradicating hunger, providing better living conditions and giving under privileged kids a means to prepare for the future. Sreekar is active in Track and Field and achieved black belt in karate.

Madigan Dwyer, a senior at Avon High School, and Madison Burgos, a senior at Simsbury High School, were also recognized.
