In January, the Granby Racial Reconciliation Steering Committee welcomed its first youth representatives, Grace Evangelista and Megan Allshouse. Grace is a sophomore and Megan is a junior at Granby Memorial High School. Both have a mind and heart for service to the community especially around racial equity.

The members of the organization are grateful for these young people’s enthusiasm and desire to participate in and support courageous conversations in their circles of influence. This is visible in Megan’s letter to the editor in this edition of the Drummer. The depth and breadth of racial inequity requires the work of building bridges on the pathway to belonging. GRR continues to seek other neighbors to expand the conversations and bring more opportunities for co-creating a flourishing community for all.
