Come to Your Senses Aromatherapy 101: Wednesday, Feb. 1, 6–7:30 p.m. in the library’s main conference room. This presentation highlights the history and health benefits of essential oils and healing botanicals. Craft fabric aromatherapy dream pillows, create a healing foot salt soak, make deconstructed soaps, all using dried botanicals and essential oils. Relaxing music and herbal teas add to this calming, creative experience! The cost is $10 paid in advance and will cover all the supplies. Registration is not complete until payment is made. Chess Club: Feb. 4, 11, 18 and 25, 3:30–4:30 p.m. For grades K–8. Parents/caregivers are welcome to stay and join the fun. Former Connecticut State Champion, high school tournament player, and chess coach and instructor, Samuel Lumelsky will teach this introductory chess class. Magic Show: Saturday, Feb. 5, 10:30–11:30 a.m.For ages 3 and up. Help us celebrate Take Your Child to the Library Day with loveable magician, Ed Popielarczyk. He will perform a fun-filled family magic show. Be prepared to be amazed! Register online at egpl.org
Tinker Tank: Mondays from 3:30–5:30 p.m. Additional dates and times found on our calendar. For ages 5-12 years, with a caregiver. Drop in anytime during our sessions and explore our Tinker Tank. Rotate our interactive lab stations and explore science, technology, engineering, and math. Stations may include: maker space, robotics, magnets, simple machines, rollercoaster design, construction, 3D pens, gears, button maker, nature exploration, and more! Select stations will be updated monthly offering new experiences for repeat visitors.
This is a drop-in session, no registration required. Participants to sign in upon arrival. Caregivers to supervise participants at all times. Tinker Tank will include small pieces and tools that are not suitable for young children.

Sphero Bolt Course: Wednesdays, Feb. 9 and 16, 5–6:30 p.m. For grades 5–7. Students will use Sphero Bots to play games, create coding programs, and complete challenges with the guidance of Miss Erin Dugan. Students will learn step by step the basics of how to program BOLT robots to complete different tasks in addition to having time to explore and create on their own. Students to attend both sessions.
