Granby Lions support blood drive

The Granby Lions Club is sponsoring an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Tuesday, Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The First Congregational Church of Granby, located on Rte.189, has graciously allowed use of its hall for this drive. Residents of Granby and surrounding communities are encouraged to help ease the significant need for all blood types and/or plasma.

The Red Cross assures all potential donors that it is safe to donate blood. You should be in good health, weigh over 110 lbs., be at least 17 years (or have parental/guardian permission), and be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Donors should wait at least two weeks following any vaccination, be well rested, have consumed iron-rich foods within 24-hours of donation, know their medical history, including any current medications or chronic conditions, and be well hydrated. Wear a face mask, bring photo identification and your COVID vaccination card.
