Extra Trash: What do you do if you have extra trash? In these instances, town approved “extra trash” bags are available for purchase. The bags are $2 each. Paine’s will pick up ONLY these designated purple bags. Place the purple bags next to your trash barrel on your regular trash day. The “extra trash” bags are available at Granby Public Works, 52 North Granby Road from 7:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or from the Transfer Station attendant during Transfer Station hours.

Simple Recycling: As of August, fabric and household items are no longer picked up on your recycling day. You must either go online at simplerecycling.com or call 1-866-835-5068 to schedule a pickup. Items can be put out in any bag or box and left by your front door.

Bridges: The work on Griffin Road Bridge is scheduled to be completed in November. At this point, Hungary Road Bridge is scheduled to be closed in January 2022.

Bear Barrels: We have received another shipment of bear barrels. There is a one-time fee of $230 for the barrel. Please call Public Works, 860-653-8960, if you are interested in a bear barrel.
