The Story Trail in East Granby is again open at the East Granby Land Trust’s Ian Clark Preserve. Family hikers are welcome to explore this half-mile loop and enjoy a children’s story. This story trail helps build children’s interest in reading, while encouraging healthy outdoor activity for children and their families. Stories will be updated with the seasons, offering a new experience for repeat visitors.

From mid-August to mid-October, When Grandpa Gives You a Toolbox, by Connecticut author Jamie L.B. Deenihan, will be featured on the story trail.

An original story to be written and illustrated by the East Granby Public Library’s Young Writers Club will debut from mid-October to Nov. 30. Details regarding the children’s writer workshop are available at egpl.org

Story Trail visitors can earn chances to win a prize each time they visit by entering the raffle at the end of the trail. Winners, drawn monthly, will receive a gift card or prize from one of these local organizations: Cake Gypsy, Deep Roots Street Food, East Granby Land Trust, East Granby Public Library, East Granby Parks and Rec, Grassroots Ice Cream, Han Asian Cuisine, La Figata, Riverside Reptiles Education Center, Table 570 Asian Fusion and @ The Barn.

The Story Trail will be on display until the end of November at the East Granby Land Trust’s Ian Clark Preserve located directly across from 140 Kimberly Road. The Story Trail is brought to you by the East Granby Public Library and the East Granby Land Trust.
