L-R Susan Patricelli Regan and CREC Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts Program student Dimitri Taylor Williams, winner of the 2021 Sylvia Davis Fine Arts Scholarship. Williams will be attending the School of Arts Institute of Chicago in the fall.

It was a banner year for the Fine Arts Charity that was established in 2017 in memory of Sylvia Davis Patricelli. She was an internationally recognized portrait painter who lived with her husband and daughter in Granby for four years after leaving her home country of Australia.

The Masters School in Simsbury and CREC Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts Half-Day Program have become integral parts of the Foundation’s focused objectives to support diversified educational opportunities for the youth of our community. Granby Memorial High School was unable to meet the parameter requirements of the scholarship this year due to a lack of participants, but is seeking to expand to a district competition that may include East Granby and Simsbury High Schools for 2022.
