Safe Grad organization seeks donations for class of 2021

Granby Parents for a Safe Graduation (GPSG), an all-volunteer, non-profit organization that organizes a substance-free Grad Night celebration for Granby Memorial High School graduates, is seeking donations from the community.

Again, this year, due to COVID-19, GPSG is unable to throw a party for GMHS graduates. In an effort to ensure the 2021 grads are properly recognized, the group is collecting donations to celebrate Granby’s 150 seniors by providing each of them with a gift bag.

To do this, we need the support of community members, parents and businesses. Donations are lower this year due to COVID. We understand the past 12 months have been very difficult financially for many. Any donation made will be greatly appreciated.

To make a donation, please send checks payable to “Granby Parents for a Safe Graduation” to Granby Parents for a Safe Graduation, Attn: Treasurer, PO Box 81, Granby, CT 06035.

Interested in sending a flock of pink plastic flamingos to a friend? A flock of pink flamingos will be placed in their yard for a few days with a $25 donation. Contact Sara Scotto at scottofamily@me.com for details.

Parents of underclassmen are also encouraged to join the Granby Parents for a Safe Grad Committee. The committee meets approximately once a month from October through June. We’re always looking for new volunteers to make sure their long-standing tradition continues for future graduating classes.  Anyone interested in volunteering can contact GPSG Chair Coreen Thompson at coreenlt@gmail.com

Please consider supporting this proud Granby tradition!
