All former and current Scouts of Troop 125 in Granby, and all grateful residents are invited to the Mary Edwards Land Trust Property on Saturday, June 12, at 11 a.m., for a very special ceremony honoring John R. Bierman.

Scoutmaster Bierman served from 1965 until his death in 1969 at the very early age of 29 from cancer. In 1972 a memorial flagpole and plaque were erected with the permission of Miss Mary Edwards on her Mountain Road property in North Granby—a favorite camping spot for the scout troop.

On June 12, the flagpole, which has been vandalized twice, will be rededicated and renewed. Family and friends of Bierman will honor his dedication and commitment to young Granby boys.

Please join us at one of the most picturesque high spots in North Granby to honor a man who lived the words on the plaque, “A man never stood so tall as when he stooped to help a boy.”
