Democratic Town Committee Survey

Spring is finally here. After our long pandemic year, we look to the future with optimism. Granby Democrats are hard at work making our community a better place to live, raise a family, work, play and retire. While there are challenges that face us, we also have opportunities. Granby is truly a special place and that is why we all choose to call it home. Just look at our great schools, open space, parks, hiking trails and family farms.

The Granby Democratic Town Committee (DTC) has been discussing ways to seek input from across our community about the pressing topics on your mind and how we might work together to improve our small town.

We created a short survey that we hope is easy to fill out and yet gives you plenty of space to express your views if you choose. To test the survey, we asked our elected DTC members to complete it first. I am pleased to share that a majority of the DTC completed this survey and they identified their top six priorities for our town as follows: education quality, quality of life, local government transparency/clear communications on decision-making, preserving our small-town atmosphere, sustainability/environmental stewardship and enhancing a business-friendly environment.

While these are the DTC’s priorities, now it is your turn to share your priorities. A survey is posted on the Granby DTC Facebook page and our website at granbydems.org or you can contact the Granby DTC at chair@granbydems.org or P.O. Box 284, Granby, CT 06035 for a hard copy. All survey results are confidential unless you want to share contact information in order to work with us on solutions. And get as specific as you can—a particular issue in your neighborhood, a tree that needs protection, or any other Granby-specific issue that is on your mind.

The Granby DTC wants to listen, hear you, understand your concerns, and find good solutions to the challenges Granby faces. Working together, we can make Granby even better. Your input is so important to this process. We know that clear communications and working on positive solutions are what Granby residents want and expect. We plan to deliver just that!
