This school year will be marked as the year the Granby Public Schools developed and implemented Stronger Together: A Working Plan for a Responsive Return to the Granby Public Schools.

As your Superintendent, I am proud to inform the community that not only did the Granby Public Schools operate this entire school year with both in-person and remote learning, but our students also continued to excel in and out of the classroom. The system has been committed to providing the best possible education for our students during this pandemic year. The foundation for our success focused on safety, equity and academic excellence for our school community.

The past few months have been a very exciting time in the Granby Public Schools. We honored our staff during Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week and held our first outdoor band/choral concert in-person in over a year. Spring sports were in full action; students participated in field days; middle school students worked in the community garden and, a collaborative Nature’s Classroom for 5th grade students held at Salmon Brook Park were just some of the incredible activities that took place. I cannot thank the entire school community enough for the dedication, perseverance, commitment, and enthusiasm displayed allowing our staff and students to engage in end-of-year traditional activities.

On Friday, June 11, we will honor the Granby Memorial High School Class of 2021 at their graduation on the Granby Memorial High School Stadium Field. This is a night I am confident our graduates and their families are looking forward to as they mark the end to their formative time in Granby public schools. The Granby Board of Education, staff and administration are committed to recognizing and celebrating the Class of 2021 and sending them off in style for their next journey in life.

The Granby Public Schools are committed to providing the best possible education for our students. I urge you to view the district website (granbyschools.org) to learn more.

I want to thank the entire community for supporting our work during this most difficult year. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at 860-844-5260 and follow me on Twitter @GranbySuper
