The East Granby Library will host a virtual talk with Martha Hall Kelly on Tuesday, April 27, at 7 p.m. Sunflower Sisters, Kelly’s latest novel in the series that includes Lilac Girls and Lost Roses, continues the story of her ancestors. Georgeanna Woolsey, a nurse who joins the war effort for the Union during the War Between the States, crosses paths with Jemma, a young enslaved girl sold off and conscripted into the army, and with Ann-May Wilson, a southern plantation mistress.

The East Granby Library’s virtual book club has chosen Sunflower Sisters for its April selection, and copies will be available to book club members prior to the author talk.

The public is invited to attend Kelly’s talk on April 27. Contact the library to register for the Zoom link at egpl.org or 860-653-3002.
