Gearing up for Friends’ annual book sale

The Friends of Granby Public Library (FOGPL) will begin accepting donations on June 1, so please start to set aside your donations for the big book sale event that will be held Sept. 24 – 26 at Holcomb Farm.

This year, for its 38th annual Used Book Sale, FOGPL will gladly accept books, CDs, DVDs, puzzles, games, toys, LP records, newer textbooks, and other book related items. We also need sturdy boxes; copy paper boxes work very well. Drop off locations will be announced in May. The dates and locations of where items may be dropped off are subject to change based upon library, town or state restrictions.

The FOGPL book carts located in the library are setup and available when you are at the library for book purchases.  Note at the time of this writing, browsing times need to be scheduled by appointment.

While we all like to shop locally, right now it may be difficult to do; if you use Amazon you can still support the Friends of Granby Public Library when shopping through Amazon Smile. You can easily set it up by going to smile.amazon.com on your desktop or mobile phone. Sign in and at the top navigation select the option to search and select your charity. Make sure to select “Friends of Granby Public Library, Inc Granby, CT”. For every order that you place through smile.Amazon, a portion is donated to the library, at no extra cost to you.

The annual FOGPL membership year starts on April 1 and runs through March 31, 2022. If you would like to join, or to renew your Friends membership, the forms for 2021-22 are available online on our Facebook “Friends of Granby Library”. The website is granby-ct.gov, and you can find us on the Friends page.
