There will be a Granby Women’s Breakfast via Zoom on Wednesday, Feb. 3. The speaker will be author Janet Barrett. Through her experiences as a horsewoman, Barrett found herself drawn to the connection between horses and the people around them. She will be discussing her book, Comanche and His Captain — the Warhorse and the Soldier of Fortune. Barrett remembers her father first telling her about Comanche when she was about eight years old. When she revisited the story a few years ago, she found an intriguing, complex story about the tough mustang that brought fame to himself, his rider and the U.S. Cavalry.
Barrett has also written about health, sports and education for TV and radio. She was raised in New York, graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. in communications, and now makes her home in Connecticut.
