Pokemon Adventure: Saturday, Nov. 7, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Explore our outdoor grounds and search for Pokémon. Roll the dice and see if you can capture the Pokémon or if they will run away. Each child registrant will be given instructions, dice and a tracking sheet the day of the event. For ages 4–9. Rain date, Nov. 14. Please register at egpl.org

Story Trail: On display until the end of November. Family hikers are welcome to explore the story trail located at the East Granby Land Trust’s Ian Clark Preserve (located directly across #140 Kimberly Road). The children’s story, When Grandma Gives You A Lemon Tree, by local Suffield author, Jamie L. B. Deenihan, will be displayed along this half-mile trail loop. Sponsored by the East Granby Public Library and the East Granby Land Trust.

Knot! Knot! Knot! Thursday, Nov. 5, 4 p.m. Join local macramé artist Linda Dick on Zoom to make a macramé beaded bracelet. For age 10 to adult. Each kit costs $10 and comes with supplies to make two bracelets. Please register at egpl.org and you will be contacted to coordinate pickup of materials. Protecting Our Native Pollinators: Thursday, Nov. 5, 6:30 p.m., via Zoom. The East Granby Land Trust and the East Granby Public Library invite you to enjoy a presentation by The Humble Bee Honey Company about protecting bees and butterflies. Learn more about beekeeping, pollinator gardens, and the importance of protecting our pollinators. Sign up at egpl.org or call 860-653-3002 to reserve a spot. A week before the event, the Humble Bee Honey Company will provide literature and seeds for pick up at the library. All attendees will be entered to win raffle prizes.

Any Book Book Club Jr: Mondays, Nov. 2, 9, 16 and 23, 5:30 p.m., via Zoom. For ages 7–12. Choose 1–3 of your own books—books you have read in the past or are reading now—and tell us about the books. We will discuss characters, settings, favorite passages and more. Listeners are welcome too. Please register at egpl.org

In-Person Book Club: Monday, Nov. 9, 10 a.m. at the library. The November book is Pachinko, by Min Jin Lee. If you are interested in joining, please call or stop by the library to pick up your copy of the book.

Virtual Book Club: Tuesday, Nov. 23, 4 p.m. via Zoom. The November book is The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek, by Kim Michele Richardson. We have some physical books and copies on our kindles available for check out.

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten: Strive to share 1,000 books with your child before they enter Kindergarten in this reading incentive program. Keep track and check in with us to earn prizes. Visit the library to register and receive your welcome kit.
