Looking for something to do in October? Is TV getting a bit stale for you and the family? Walk your way into Granby’s history.

In recognition of the 75th anniversary of the Salmon Brook Historical Society, the society is sponsoring a walking tour of Salmon Brook Street during October. The Salmon Brook Historic District contains 35 homes. Each home will have a poster with a picture of the original house in front yard. The posters will include a QR code so walkers can learn about the history of the house and the people who lived in them using their mobile phone or tablet

For the hundreds of people who use Salmon Brook street on a regular basis, this could be a real eye opener into the history of Granby. The tour is comprised of 35 properties on 85 acres and extends from Granby Center (Routes 10/202 and 20) about two-thirds mile south on Salmon Brook Street. Most of the structures are from the 17th and 18th century

Watch for more details in the October issue of The Granby Drummer.
