Entering 2020, the Granby Memorial High School Safe Grad Committee is busy preparing for a successful Safe Grad Night event for graduating seniors in June. But it can’t do it without the help of GMHS parents.

Planning for the 2020 GMHS Safe Grad Night is well underway and volunteers are needed. Safe Grad Night is a free, fun-filled, substance-free event offered to graduating seniors every year the night of graduation at the Granby YMCA.

The committee is asking parents of underclassmen students to volunteer for the event so that parents of seniors can enjoy graduation festivities with their families. For this reason, it is especially important for new volunteers to step up each year. Help is needed with food, room set up, decorations and chaperoning. There are also several tasks required in advance of the event, if a parent is able to help but isn’t available for the party itself.

The committee holds meetings the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m., through May. Meetings are held in the media center at GMHS. Meetings are posted on the GMHS website and included in the weekly GMHS eblasts. To keep up to date on committee happenings, follow it on Facebook at facebook.com/granbyctsafegrad/
