Town Board Volunteers

The Town of Granby looks for volunteers to serve on town boards, commissions and committees to work with our full time staff who work on our behalf. There are more than 225 volunteers who currently serve the Town on 30 boards/commissions/committees.  Since the responsibility of filling the positions on boards and commissions is usually the job of the Democrat and Republican Town Committees, there was a joint venture to reach out to people at the Volunteer Fair on April 15. We had fact sheets that described the roles of the town boards and committees as they currently function. We developed an interest form that could be used by anyone no matter what their affiliation. People interested in a specific area of service may contact Town Manager’s office 860-844-5300, Democrat Town Committee-Jim Lofink 860-810-0274, Republican Town Committee-Diane Hernsdorf 860-653-7112.

Currently there are 2 openings on the Agricultural Commission. The affiliation could be R or U to maintain the balance of of minority representation noted in the Charter.
