Peter Mulvey to perform in Granby

By Carole Bernard

Listening to Peter Mulvey’s music draws you in and leaves you wanting more. His incredibly smooth and silky voice reaches into the depths of your soul and echo there, much like his songs did when he sang in Boston’s subways.

A native of Milwaukee, Wis., Mulvey brings the well-grounded sensibility of America’s heartland together with musical skills honed in Dublin, Ireland, to create real magic.

Throughout the years and hundreds of performances since the 1990s, Peter has developed an international following. Blending his passion for music with an altruistic drive, Mulvey put on a 12-hour on-line concert on Jan. 25, raising almost $8,000 for a variety of non-profit organizations with his one-day world tour. Visit www.petermulvey.com for a sampling of his music.

Mulvey will perform on Saturday, April 18, at 7:30 p.m. in the Salmon Brook Music Hall, 242 Salmon Brook Street (Rtes. 10/202), a relaxing and casual environment. In keeping with the tradition of debuting local young musicians, the group Rustic Youth will open the concert.

Concert proceeds will support the mission and goals of South Church. Advance price tickets are $15, and $17 at the door. The doors open at 7 p.m.; there will be an intermission with refreshments available. Please call Arlene at 860-916-5066 with questions or to reserve tickets.
