The Harbor, a free Sunday Night gathering for community members to come together and share community, dinner, and a short UU/UCC service, starts Oct. 2 at First Congregational Church of Granby.
No matter who you are, how you move through the world, where you are in your life’s journey, what you believe or what you don’t believe, you are welcome to join with us in community, and be as much a part of us as you would like.
The goal of The Harbor is to provide a space for people to be welcome and accepted and fed, with a particular emphasis around making this a welcoming space for people who identify as queer or LGBTQ+. There aren’t many existing queer spaces in the Granby community, or the towns surrounding it, and a weekly gathering is a good starting place to build a diverse and loving community here in town.
The Sunday night gatherings are based around a community dinner. Dinner preparation starts at 4:45, and everyone is welcome to show up early to help set up the space and prepare the food.
At 5:30, a short service will be held, with simple songs, a theology-free community communion and an opportunity for prayers. At 5:45, dinner is served, and everyone is welcome to eat their fill—and take any leftovers home at the end of the evening.
