In Medias Arts is proud to bring its interactive theatrical experience, #trending, a choose-your-own adventure story for social media lovers, to Connecticut for a one-night-only event as it prepares for the Charm City Fringe Festival in Baltimore, Md. The show will be at First Congregational Church of Granby, 219 North Granby Road on Saturday, Oct. 15, at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are available at the door. Admission is free and donations will be accepted.
Christi McLain and Jerron Jorgensen are featured in #trending, directed by Kristy Chambrelli with original scoring by Jarrod Ratcliffe and musical arrangements by Jerron Jorgensen and Jarrod Ratcliffe. Sara, a dating advice blogger, has met someone online while traveling in China. Meanwhile, her boyfriend back at home has been acting suspiciously. Using social media, the audience will guide Sara’s choices throughout the show. Will she stay or will she go? You decide: Who’s dating Sara?
The production #trending is breaking the rules of audience convention and making theatre an active experience. Entertainment is going through a huge shift in how content is experienced, and #trending is theatre for the Netflix generation. This is a show that will be equally enjoyed by theatre newcomers and veterans alike. Make sure you arrive with your phone fully charged and ready to play.
The production team for #trending includes: Kristy Chambrelli (Director and Media Designer), Jerron Jorgensen (Arranger), Christi McLain (Social Media Curator), Jarrod Ratcliffe (Composer, Arranger and Media Design).
