Granby Memorial High School Performing Arts is excited to announce the spring musical, Fiddler On The Roof, in cooperation with Music Theater International.
Fiddler On The Roof tells the life-affirming story of Tevye, a poor milkman whose love, pride and faith help him face the oppression of turn-of-the-century czarist Russia. With music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, and book by Joseph Stein, it is set in the Pale of Settlement in Imperial Russia in 1905. The story centers on Tevye, the father of five daughters, and his attempts to maintain his Jewish religious and cultural traditions as outside influences encroach upon the family’s lives.
Senior Dalton Lemoine heads up the cast as Tevye with fellow seniors Griffin Ware as Lazar Wolf, Hannah Shoaf as Tzeitel, Jake Yoder as Perchik, Audrey White as Yente and performing arts president Conor Drennan as the rabbi. Over 60 students are involved in this production with seniors Kat Boit, Katie Karabetsos and Erin Keener heading up set production and Sydney Cote in charge of lighting design.
The show will take place Friday, March 16, at 7 p.m.; Saturday, March 17, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, March 18, at 2 p.m. Ticket prices are $12 for students/seniors and $15 for adults. Granby senior citizens are welcome for free.
Mark your calendars now for this special event.
