On Monday, May 28, Granby’s Memorial Day parade will start at 10 a.m., on Bank Street and proceed through the center of town up Route 189 to the cemetery led by Parade Marshall James Hall. Veteran/military groups includes the American Legion and the Connecticut Air National Guard, emergency services, scouts, youth sports teams and clubs, and local bands including the Marquis of Granby Fife and Drum Corp and the GMHS band will march. Weather permitting, there will be a C-130 Hercules fly-over from the 103rd Airlift Wing. The parade gathers at the Center Cemetery to honor fallen soldiers with a wreath laying and 21-gun salute. Francis Armentano, former community development director, is the speaker. Please come out to honor past and present troops and enjoy the parade, music and ceremony.
