How I prepare for a game/match/meet: Review game film, get to practice early to get shots up, stay after practice to get shots up, scout opponents, write out plays using my whiteboard, work out at the YMCA on weekends, check opponent records and stats, listen to music

Most memorable moment as a BEAR:

Basketball: Ellington Away Game Freshman Year; subbed in six minutes left in 4th qtr, down 28-36, scored 10 points to bring Granby back within one possession (missed buzzer beater)

Softball: Hitting two home runs in back-to-back at bats vs. Bolton (Spring 2017 Season)

Favorite athlete: Russell Westbrook, Oklahoma City Thunder; Diana Taurasi, Phoenix Mercury

Plans after high school: Attend a four-year university and play women’s college basketball/softball, while earning a degree in Education; play women’s basketball professionally, coach sports

Win over St. Joseph’s in State Tournament

Plans after high school:  Attending Liberty University for Mathematics

Sports played: Cross Country (Fall), Swimming (winter), Outdoor Track (spring)

Academic accomplishments: Scholar Athlete Honor and High Honor Roll

Athletic Accomplishments: All Conference XC, All State Swimming and Class S Champion in 100 butterfly
How I prepare for a game/match/meet: Listening to terrible music to get pumped up with friends to relax, do a long warm up, then focus on the race about 20 minutes before the start

Most memorable moment as a BEAR: Winning 100 fly at the Class S State meet and winning our dual meet against Lewis Mills by anchoring the 4×100 freestyle relay, catching up from a half-lap deficit, and out-touching the other team to win the meet by two points

Favorite athlete: Ryan Lochte

Plans after high school: College (away from Connecticut)

Nicole Szilagyi

Sports played: Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field

Academic accomplishments: Honor Roll

Athletic Accomplishments: 2x NCCC Champion, Class M State Champion, 2x New England qualifier

How I prepare for a game/match/meet: Listen to music, go through the race in my head, go through my hurdle drills, and just try to relax and have fun

Most memorable moment as a BEAR: Having everyone cheering on our teams in the Den

Favorite athlete: Gabby Douglas

Plans after high school: I will be attending Sacred Heart University majoring in exercise science and continuing my track career
