Granby Memorial High School junior Serra Tickey has been appointed the 2018 student liaison to the Board of Selectman. Serra’s interest in the different branches of government lead her to apply for the position, which she hopes will keep her educated in the town’s current events and issues. She will report on high school happenings at each Board of Selectmen meeting.

Serra is a busy person at GMHS where she is a member of the French Honor Society that does service projects in both the school and the community. She also belongs to the Model UN club, participating in debates on current international problems. A varsity tennis player since her freshman year, Serra also managed the varsity boys soccer team that won the NCCC title this past season.
Irish dancing is a serious hobby for this active gal. She is in her 12th year of dance study at the Griffith Academy in Wethersfield.
At this time, Serra sees a career in law in her future—most likely in the judicial branch.
