West Granby resident Ralph Eustis (pictured on right) was honored with Hartford Habitat’s Outstanding Construction Volunteer award for his exceptional service to Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity. Director of Construction Kris McKelvie presented the award at Habitat’s Volunteer Appreciation Celebration on October 18, 2017, at the Mark Twain Museum.
Eustis, a seasoned construction volunteer, is one of Habitat’s “Weekday Saints” who volunteer tirelessly year round building Habitat’s affordable homes throughout greater Hartford. As a regular crew leader, Eustis leads the daily work assignments of volunteer crews through expert instruction and positive coaching. During 2016 Eustis could be found almost daily at the Habitat home built on West Granby Road to ensure its timely construction. “We are grateful for Ralph’s commitment to Habitat’s mission of building homes, community, and hope,” said Don Shaw, Jr., Habitat board member emeritus, and Granby resident.
