Celebrate Granby set for Sept. 16-18

The annual “Celebrate Granby” event sponsored by the Granby Chamber of Commerce will take place this year at Salmon Brook Park. The three-day celebration will kick off on Friday, Sept. 16 and will end on Sunday, Sept. 18 on the following schedule: Friday 5 p.m. – 9 p.m.; Saturday 11 a.m. – p.m.; Sunday 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.
A carnival with games and rides, as well as local food vendors offering selections from their menus will run all three days. There will also be: live music from Still Above Ground and Still Kicking,  and the Big City Horns; a beer garden, operated by Katering by Karen; wine tastings; a classic car show; a raffle, in conjunction with Saturday’s business expo; and a dunk tank featuring Granby’s favorite elementary teachers.
The Business Expo that occurs each year along with the event will take place on Saturday from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., featuring 50-plus local businesses.
New for Sunday, is an Artisans, Makers, and Farmers Market from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Fairgoers will have the opportunity to purchase produce from Granby’s farms and check out the products of local crafters.
“Local businesses and restaurants look forward to this event every year as it provides a great opportunity to showcase businesses while being involved in a fun community event,” said John French, president of the Granby Chamber of Commerce. “We have seen an increasing number of non-profit groups signing up to participate as well.”

Parking on Friday and Sunday, attendees can park at Salmon Brook Park. For parking on Saturday, attendees can park at Salmon Brook Park, at Lot A (Center Fire Station_, at Lot B (Salmon Brook Historical Society), and at Lot C (South Congregational Church (10 a.m. – 6 p.m.). Accessible parking will be available onsite at Salmon Brook Park. Donations to park at the lots may apply.
