After contributing to CharityVision’s Romney-Holyfield Fight Night fundraiser, Bob and Pam Bazyk were surprised to learn they were the event’s grand prize winners. CharityVision flew the couple to the event in Salt Lake City where they accompanied Mitt and Ann Romney backstage and ringside for the event. “We contributed to CharityVision because its work helps tens of thousands around the world in a real and meaningful way”, said Mr. Bazyk who, because of an accident, has been legally blind in his right eye since he was an infant.

“The Romneys and Mr. Holyfield are world champions in this effort. It’s about the greatness of the cause. The event raised over $1 million that will fund 40,000 sight-saving surgeries. We are honored to be part of it.”

Blindness affects millions of people. The CharityVision website conveys these startling statistics: “For over 39 million people on earth, blindness is a reality. Over 90 percent of these people live in developing countries. Sadly, every minute a child goes blind. What’s truly amazing is that 80 percent of all blindness can be cured. CharityVision is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization with a focus on empowering local physicians in the developing world and creating sustainable solutions to the worldwide blindness epidemic.”
