Granby’s finance officer again chosen for award

Granby Administration Finance Officer Barbarajean Scibelli once again has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). The award is the highest form of recognition in the area of government accounting and financial reporting. It acknowledges Scibelli’s excellence in preparing Granby’s comprehensive annual financial statement.
Among other factors, the report is judged on its ability to demonstrate the “spirit of full disclosure,” and to communicate the information in a manner that will motivate potential users. The GFOA is a non-profit professional association that encompasses approximately 17,500 government financial individuals, so winning this award is definitely a feather in the cap of both the Town of Granby and Ms. Scibelli.
