Friends are accepting donations for the used book sale

 By Carole Bernard

If you are doing some spring cleaning, getting ready to move, or downsizing, you might have some goodies that the Friends could use!

The Friends of Granby Public Library will be holding their 33rd Used Book Sale on September 25-27 at Holcomb Farm this year. In preparation for that sale, donations are being accepted. Gently used books, learning toys, CDs, DVDs, books on electronic media, puzzles and other reading-related items are most welcome.

We are not able to accept text books, magazines, condensed books, cassettes, VHS or eight-track tapes.

Donations will be accepted during normal business hours at Granby Public Library, Geissler’s Supermarket in Granby, and the Farmington Valley YMCA in Granby, from June 8 through August 22. Larger donations can be dropped off at Holcomb Farm on Monday evenings beginning June 8 through August 17, from 6 – 7 p.m., or by appointment. Please call Carole at 860-653-6606.

Students can also earn their community service hours while having fun! Volunteers are always welcome. If you would like to join us this summer, please call Carole. More information is available at www.granby-ct.gov/public_documents/granbyCT_library/friends.
